Evaluations & Grade System


  1. Out of total of 100 marks for each subject, 50 marks are allocated for internal assessment and remaining 50 marks for external evaluation.

  2. Internal evaluation is done by the teacher concerned and is based on the students performance on the following:

     

    • Midterm Test
    • Quizzes
    • Attendance
    • Class participation
    • Assignments
    • Project
    • Group discussion
    • Other methods

     

    1. The minimum marks required to pass in a subject are 50%.

    2. Grades for each subject are awarded according to the following scale:

    A+ 90 - 100 Excellent 4.0
    A 80 - 89   3.7
    B+ 75 - 79 Very Good 3.5
    B 70 - 74   3.0
    C+ 65 - 69 Fair 2.5
    C 60 - 64   2.0
    D+ 55 - 59 Satisfactory 1.5
    D 50 - 54   1.0
    F 0 - 49 Fail 0.0
    T - Transferred 0.0



    Non Evaluative Grade:

    W-With drawl: (officially approved for with drawl before deadlines.)
    I-Incomplete: (Registered, completed attendance, sessional requirements but did not appear in terminal examination.)

     

    1. xternal evaluation is done by PIMSAT, based on students performance in the Terminal examination.

    2. uring the examination strict discipline is maintained and violation of rules and regulations and use of unfair means may lead to disqualification from the examination, the semester/ Quarter or the entire program. The decision of the management shall be final and binding on the student concerned.

    3. he grade point average (GPA) is determined by allocating the grade points to the respective grades obtained and using the following formula:

     

              GPA   =   Sum of (Grade point × Credit Hours) of all Subjects

    1.  For successful completion of Bachelors program a student is required to attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. The minimum cumulative GPA required for Master program is 2.2.
